Cultivating a mindfulness practice teaches you to see the patterns of the mind and to learn how to recognize when your mood is beginning to decline. This knowledge gives you the power to reverse the cycle of depression and negativity.

Slowing down daily, if not stopping regularly can assist in decreasing negative thoughts Catching them early and and letting go of them quickly allows you to concentrate on the present moment. Staying in the here-and-now, instead of sliding backward into yesterday or trying to live in tomorrow may improve your quality of life and your health.

Learn how to shift your mental gears from an automatic mindset focused on negative or destructive thoughts to experiencing the world directly and without being judgmental.

Mindfulness can help you to enhance your focus and get back in touch with the experience of being and feeling alive.

Develop a willingness and ability to experience emotions, and to learn to let them go. It helps give you the courage to experience your thoughts, emotions, and sensations without fear, resistance, or resentment. You will come to understand that difficult and unwanted thoughts and feelings can be held in awareness and seen from a perspective that brings a sense of appreciation for your experience.
